Day 520 - musings

So, realized I've had my shop for over a year. Still not really making much. The switch to marketplace ended up causing me a lot of issues, and I really hate marketplace, but what can I do - I suppose try and find out the alternatives and try them too. Still taking classes, of course, and contemplating what I could teach, but not really sure. My best skills are not the sort that help builder's, but.....well, I'll keep an eye out.

Realized that I've changed my look a lot over the year and a half I've been alive, yay me. I'll need to get a picture up soon.

Day 423 - A new year,,,,

Well, technically, the new year was november 1st, but I've been a bit slow and sluggish - I blame the cold.

Got a set of neko ears and tails in a striped christmas motif under a christmas tree in my shop, Faerycat Designs, in SL. I'll be bringing them over to Inworldz as well, at least the plain versions. The sculpts I used for the jewelry is still questionable on if license covers other grids, so need to ask.

Anyway, if you go to my shop in SL, then you can get both the tree and the gift under it as my present to you. Tree has faerylights and a lighted star, both of which can be shut off. The present has two tails [one for pelvis and one for stomach] four pairs of ears - two of the side style, plain and ornamented, and two of the top style ears. As said, the Inworldz version will only have two pairs of ears, but they're kind of cute. [Picture will be along eventually.]

Day 345 - Starting over ...

Well, at least on this blog. Its been a very long time since I've posted anything, but there has been a lot going on. I've got my own store now, for Faerycat Designs. My biggest seller seems to be some sculptmaps ffor piercing jewelry that I originally made for a friend. One of those funny things, really. I need to get my clothing up there and find time to make stuff - its been difficult lately. I need multiple versions of Beth - ones for classes, ones for working and ones for playing.

Anyway, I'll see about getting some pictures up of things I've got for sale.

Day 119 - Bad Faerycat, no cookie

Its been a very busy time for me, so of course, no updates since my earliest days alive in SL. Not really an excuse, just a fact, really. I'm no longer dancing, which I suppose is both good and bad, since means less revenue to roll back into my shop, but also means less blushing too. DJing went from being a well paid gig with few tips, to decent tips but no actual pay beyond that, but got something called an agent for that.

My store. I'd decide to start off making lamps and other types of low prim furnishings. Figured, very few folks make such things, so less likely to be lost in the shuffle - and I think I guessed wrong. My lamps are pretty, I think, and have custom scripting to turn it off and on, with only the lampshade glowing. My rug is well done too, with 10 different textures, menu-recolourable fringe and modible too, so you can make them different lengths and widths. My sideboards might be really simple, but everything is using custom textures, except for the fringe, which was a free texture I desaturated for use. Nothing has sold.

I'm about to start doing shapes and skins. I keep getting compliments on my own, which I've done myself. Might also throw in jewelry and clothing, once I manage to get a few designs out of my head. I'm really picky, so if it comes out well, I'll wear it, and considering stuff I've bought myself that's not been nearly as good as the pictures lead you to believe.....well, if I can just start getting recognized...

Day 33 - Launch of Faerycat Designs

Hi - yes I know, I've been very lax of late and for that I apologize. Been working hard to make something I felt was worth selling and I finally got it up on XStreet - yay me! Its just a large cushion-rug with some smaller pillows, but they all are colour-changeable and there are 7 different sit poses. I'd have made it where multiple people can lounge on it, but need to find time with a guinea pig to make sure feet and arms don't go through other folks.

Day 22 - bad fae, no cookie

I know, I know - only 22 days old now and forgot to update for a long time. I'm almost old enough to start putting stuff up on this place called Xstreet. Can hardly wait - so many ideas for pretty houses and furniture and jewelry and... well, you get the idea.

My latest hobby is fishing. Won a competition my first night out and it was also a lot of fun, so expect some more fishing type posts and pictures. And there will be some pictures, I promise.

For tonight, off to sleep - got a class tomorrow and a costume to start working on.

Day 11 - Busy little flitten

Hi - sorry its been a few days, but they have been busy ones.

I found a job, first of all. I'll be dancing, and hopefully I'll do alright with it. I've also been adopted by a clan in Neko Asylum, and hopefully I'll be a credit to them as well.

Knowledge, I've been packing alot into my head the past few days. I have made a chair that is colour-changing, as well as learning how to build with as few prims as necessary. I've also learned to sculpt prims, though not very well yet. And then there is scripting. Again, I'm not very good yet, but I'll learn.

And I've made a bunch of new friends.
